A set of activities, such as measurement or testing, is carried out on a product or commodity to determine whether its specifications conform to technical specifications or standards, which is known as “Quality Control.” This is done to ascertain whether the product meets the technical specifications or standards.

The activities of quality control and the laboratory are divided into four sections, as follows:

• Raw Material Control
• Pre-Production Process Control
• In-Process Control
• Post-Production Control

The precise and timely execution of these four activities by the quality control unit of the organization leads to the improvement of quality and stability in production.
