Cold Rolling
Cold rolling” is typically employed to produce sheets and strips with surface finishing and dimensional accuracy. Additionally, it is used to enhance the strength of the sheet through mechanical processing. The objective of cold rolling is to reduce the thickness of the sheet under high-pressure conditions.
The features of the hot rolling process include:
- Increase in the hardness of the material.
- Increase in the dislocation within the crystal structure.
- Increase in yield stress.
Advantages of cold rolling:
- The lubrication is carried out more easily.
- In the absence of cold and oxidation, lower tolerance and better surface finish are achieved.
